Personalised pieces & your files
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This page forms part of our Terms & Conditions and applies to every piece made from a name, photo or file you send us: the name keychain and desk letter (PureName), the thread portrait from your photo (PureLine), the dot portrait from your photo (PureBrick) and "Print your file".
1. Before you order
- Previews are approximate: the on-screen preview is a digital simulation. The real piece is made of threads, dots or layers of filament and may differ from the screen in fine detail and shading.
- You approve the design: by placing the order you approve the name as you typed it, the photo as you cropped it and the file as you uploaded it, with the size and colour. We print names exactly as written and do not correct spelling, so please check carefully.
- Photo quality: a sharp, well-lit photo gives a better result. A weak or dark photo is printed as it is, and a weaker result from it is not a defect.
- We may make small technical adjustments that do not change the look so the piece can be printed, such as letter thickness or print orientation.
2. Your right to what you send
By sending a name, photo or file you confirm and guarantee that:
- You own the rights to it or have the clear permission of the person who does to print it.
- If the photo shows another person, you have their consent to use it; if it shows a child, you are the child's parent or guardian or have their consent.
- The content does not break Kuwaiti law or public morals and does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark or privacy.
Where is this file from?
When you upload a file to print, you choose where it comes from and confirm that you have the right to print it for your own use and are not asking pure3d to sell copies of it:
- My own design: you are the designer.
- A design I am licensed to print: you bought a licence or have permission that allows it to be printed, and you can show us that licence if we ask.
- A free-to-use model (CC0 / CC BY): a model published under a licence that allows printing, subject to its conditions such as crediting the designer.
- A model for personal use (MakerWorld, Printables, Thingiverse): we print one copy for your personal use only, not for sale or commercial distribution. If the model's licence forbids printing by someone else or for payment, please do not order it from us.
Your choice of source is a statement you are responsible for. We do not verify the rights in every file, but we may ask for proof of the licence and refuse a file we have doubts about.
3. What we do not print
- Weapons of any kind, their parts and accessories (such as firearm parts, magazines and silencers), ammunition, replicas that could be mistaken for real weapons, and tools designed to cause harm.
- Protected characters, logos and trademarks (such as film and anime characters, club and company logos) without the owner's licence, and counterfeit products.
- Content that is offensive or against public morals, insults religions or people, incites hatred or violence, or is political or sectarian.
- Photos of people without their consent, or anything that invades privacy or is defamatory.
- Imitations of official seals or emblems, identity documents, currency, or military and security ranks and badges; lock-picking tools; copies of keys you do not own.
- Anything unlawful in the State of Kuwait.
4. Our right to review and refuse
- We review every name, photo and file before we make it, and we may refuse any of them without giving reasons.
- If we refuse before printing, we refund the full amount paid.
- If we find after printing that the content breaks these rules, we will not deliver the piece. We refund in full, unless you gave us false information about the content or the rights in it, in which case we deduct the cost of the work done.
- We may report content that appears unlawful to the competent authorities.
5. Print your file: additional terms
- Price: the instant price shown after upload is an estimate, confirmed after we review the file. If it has to change we tell you first and print nothing until you agree; if you do not agree, we refund you in full.
- Printed as supplied: we print the file as we receive it, in millimetres. We check it and tell you if we see an obvious problem, but we do not fix design errors unless agreed, and we cannot guarantee a design we did not make. Printing faults themselves are always covered by the guarantee.
- Limits of use: pieces are printed in PLA for general and decorative use. We do not guarantee their mechanical or heat resistance or fitness for a particular purpose, and they are not intended for food contact, medical use, as toys for young children, or for any safety-critical use (such as car parts, load-bearing parts, climbing gear or child seats).
- Small dimensional differences and support marks are part of 3D printing, as described in the Terms & Conditions.
6. Preparation and delivery
Each personalised piece has a preparation time shown to you before payment. It runs from order confirmation, or from your approval of the final price if your file needs review. The 2-day delivery promise applies to catalogue lamps; personalised pieces reach you within the time shown to you. Delivery fees are as on the delivery page.
7. Returns
Personalised pieces and printed files are made for you alone, so they cannot be returned or exchanged unless they have a manufacturing defect or differ from the order you approved, in which case the 14-day guarantee applies. Mistakes in the name, photo or file as you sent them are not defects. Details on the guarantee & returns page.
8. How we handle what you send
- Your photo, name and file remain yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process them technically (cropping, scaling, generating the thread or dot pattern, preparing the print) for one purpose only, making your order. The licence ends when we delete them.
- The patterns and print files our tools produce from your photo or name are our work; we deliver the printed piece, not the files.
- We do not share, reuse or print what you send for anyone else.
- We do not post a photo of the finished piece on the site or our accounts without your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- We delete photos and files within 30 days of delivery (or of cancellation), unless you ask us to keep them for a reorder. You can ask us to delete them sooner. Details in the privacy policy.
9. Your responsibility for content
You are responsible for the name, photo and file you send. If a third party makes a claim against us because what you sent infringes their rights or breaks the law, you agree to compensate us for that claim and the resulting damages and reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
